Watch live: Walz holds campaign rally in Michigan

Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz (D), the running mate of Vice President Harris, will deliver remarks Thursday during an event in Grand Rapids, Mich.

The campaign stop comes on the heels of a tense debate between Harris and former President Trump. Polls published since the event have largely been in favor of the vice president.

Michigan, which boasts 15 Electoral College votes, is seen as a critical swing state this cycle. The state had been seen as loyally Democratic until Trump won it narrowly in 2016. President Biden, who dropped out earlier this summer and endorsed Harris, reclaimed the Great Lakes State in 2020.

The Hill/Decision Desk HQ’s aggregate of polls in the battleground state shows Harris leading Trump by just more than 1 point, or 48.1 percent to 46.9 percent.

Thursday’s rally is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. EDT.
