Watch: Trump gives remarks on immigration, border security in Texas
Former President Trump gave remarks to the press Friday afternoon from Austin, Texas, focusing on immigration and border security, according to his campaign.
Trump has leaned in to the issue of illegal immigration to attack his Democratic opponent, Vice President Harris, and the Biden administration.
The White House rivals will both be in the Lone Star State on Friday, though polling shows Trump leading Harris by a comfortable margin of 6.6 points in the state.
The parties are also battling over a Senate seat in Texas, with Sen. Ted Cruz (R) defending his seat against a bid from Rep. Colin Allred (D). Recent polling has shown the Democratic challenger within 3 points of Cruz.
Trump’s remarks were scheduled to begin at 1:30 p.m. EDT.
