Watch live: Trump attends SpaceX Starship’s latest test launch
President-elect Trump is expected to attend the sixth test launch of SpaceX’s Starship on Tuesday afternoon.
In its fifth test last month, SpaceX caught a rocket booster on its Texas launchpad as it returned to Earth. CEO Elon Musk, seemed to revel in the catch, writing on the social platform X that a large “step towards making life multiplanetary was made today.”
Musk has emerged as one of the president-elect’s most loyal allies and donated millions of dollars into a pro-Trump super PAC that helped with voter turnout efforts. Since Election Day, he has been a near-constant presence at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida, has joined calls with foreign leaders, attended meetings in Washington and offered input on Cabinet positions.
The launch from Starbase near Brownsville, Texas, is scheduled for 5 p.m. EST.
