Watch firefighters save raccoon stuck in storm drain
Firefighters assisted a raccoon in an improvised jailbreak in Austin, Texas.
When they answered a call from concerned locals, the Austin Fire Department found the distressed raccoon imprisoned behind bars and swimming helplessly at the bottom of a storm drain. Realizing the animal was unable to escape, ingenious firefighters created a makeshift ramp and gently guided the raccoon to safety.
"This is where knowing your tools & thinking outside the box really come in handy," said the Austin Fire Association in an Instagram post.
