Dramatic daylight arrest captured in middle of busy Melbourne intersection
Dramatic vision has emerged of an arrest in the middle of a busy Northcote road in Melbourne’s north.
Police were forced to smash in the windows of a car before arresting those inside.
Police use a baton to smash through both front windows of the white 4WD, bringing a busy intersection to a standstill.
Stunned drivers watched on in disbelief as one person ran from the scene as the officers tried to restrain a number of others.

“They were banging on the car the passengers windows,” one witness told 7 News.
“Got them out the car started beating them again, it was crazy.”
It was New Year’s Day in Northcote when police first spotted the car running a red light and speeding along Merri Parade.
It had a suspended registration.
Officers began a short pursuit on St Georges Road after the car was seen driving along the tram tracks to get around other cars.
“As soon as that happened they drove for a bit on the tracks and it turned into a police chase,” the witness said.
Three people were arrested.
The 32-year-old driver was treated for minor injuries and then charged with reckless conduct endangering life and traffic offences.
A 28-year-old woman and a 15-year-old boy were released without charge.
