Warning over sinister discoveries in popular pool noodle toys

Police have issued a frightening warning about a common flotation device, alerting the public that pool noodles can be a popular resting places for snakes.

Several reports were made to the Buckeye Police Department in Arizona about people discovering snakes using pool noodles to sleep and lay eggs inside of.

In a post to Facebook, the police department warned the public to always check their pool noodles before using them, especially if they hadn’t been used in a while.

“We found that there have been reports of snakes actually laying their eggs inside the pool noodle itself or around pool noodles that have been left outdoors near bushes or block fences,” the post read.

The alarm was initially raised after a family discovered rattlesnakes in two pool noodles they had left outside.

“The next time they went to use the pool, the pool noodles were picked up and brought to the swimming pool.”

“Out popped a rattlesnake. The snake did not attack, but was concerned about the pool noodles as there were a couple of young rattlesnakes who were still inside the pool noodle.”

Hundreds of people chimed in on the discussion, praising police for spreading the word, while others shared stories of small snakes slithering their way into their pool toys.
