Wanted NSW man falls 10m fleeing police

A man has suffered a broken shoulder and scratches after falling 10 metres from a tree while trying to flee police in western Sydney.

Officers had gone to arrest the 45-year-old man, wanted over a personal violence order (PVO), at a Pendle Hill unit on Wednesday but found him unconscious at the base of a large pine tree outside as they left.

The man, who admitted to police he'd jumped from the third-floor balcony into the tree before it gave way, was refused bail to appear in Fairfield Local Court on Thursday on charges including assault, intimidation and theft.
