Shocking moment little boy on scooter is hit by car
Security cameras have captured the awful moment a little boy riding his scooter on a suburban Perth street was struck by a car.
With a cape around his neck, but no helmet, the youngster could be seen making his way down a Canning Vale road near his home without a worry in the world.
Minutes later the four-year-old was on the ground – screaming.
Police say the little boy rode his scooter in front of a white car being driven by a 17-year-old, who had his mates in the back.
"There was a lot of bleeding in his mouth, there was lacerations on his forehead, his right eye was really swollen,” a witness told Seven News.
Those who saw the incident said the teenage driver was clearly in shock and that he couldn’t even speak after the accident.
About 45 minutes earlier, a 12-year-old school boy was hit by a 4WD while crossing busy Spencer Road in Thornlie.
He suffered head and leg injuries.
Both boys remain in a stable condition at Princess Margaret Hospital on Tuesday night.
Police reiterated that neither driver was at fault.
