Video shows truck slam into braking car - but who is at fault?

A truck driver has captured the moment he ploughed into the back of a braking car, sending it straight into the side of another moving vehicle.

Viewers are divided over who caused the collision on a Perth highway in Western Australia, with video showing the truck driver swearing as the hatchback crosses over into his lane and starts braking.

The driver can be heard screaming “what the f*** are you doing?” before honking his horn several times.

The driver slams into the back of the much smaller car and sends it into the side of another truck.

“This is what it's like driving a truck in Perth. People do really dumb things,” the video caption reads.

The truck driver quickly pulls over to the side of the road, while it’s understood the driver of the smashed car was not injured.

Since being shared on Facebook, social media users are divided as to exactly who is at fault.

“Stupid car driver. Don't brake heavy in front of a truck like that. You should have moved to the second lane as soon as you could near the intersection,” one person commented.

"Fully loaded trucks take time to pull up the stupid part is that the light vehicle took up two lanes," another added.

“He didn't even try to slow down. Not even attempt to use the brakes. F*** sake. Could've killed the driver of the car,” another person wrote.

Others suggested both were at fault and didn’t do enough to prevent the crash.

"The car driver had no reason to do what they did but the truck driver didn’t appear to be looking where he was going!"
