Meet Australia's most spectacular mullet - and it belongs to a nine-year-old boy
Baird Garrett could arguably possess the most spectacular mullet known to man - or rather, kid, as Baird is only nine years old.
Baird, from the regional town of Onslow in north-west Western Australia, is something of a local celebrity, with many impressed passers-by asking if they can take a selfie with him and his hair.
The enterprising youngster has now decided to turn the interest in his magnificent mullet into a cause for good - raising money for children's charity Variety.
According to The West Australian, Baird got the idea to raise money for charity when he was stopped for a selfie during a school fundraiser.
He started charging $5 for a selfie, the proceeds of which go to his Hair With Heart campaign.
Baird's mother Renee Garrett said her son hoped to raise $24,000 before September 2018, when he plans to cut his mullet off and donate his hair to make wigs for children who have lost their hair due to cancer or other illnesses.
“He used to just have a short back and sides and a spiky top and one day he was sitting down with the barber and said, ‘I just want the top trimmed this time',” Ms Garrett told The West Australian.
“The barber said ‘well then, you need a mullet'.”

On his Hair with Heart page, Baird writes: "I have been growing my mullet for 2.5 years and it will be sad to part with it.
"People know me because of my mullet - its my trademark!
"Please help me raise $24,000 as this will provide 4 kids with wigs and help them gain self confidence.
"I will be cutting my hair in September 2018. I will keep you updated on my progress. Thanks for your generosity everyone."
