Manhunt underway after grandmother raped in Perth home

A manhunt is underway in the Perth suburb of Waikiki after a shocking sex attack on an elderly woman in her own home.

The victim is 83 years old, uses a walking frame and was alone when a man smashed his way into her house.

It was in the early hours of Friday morning in what appears to have started as a burglary and has ended with the woman being pinned to the ground and raped.

The victim described her attacker as being in his early 20s with dark skin, around 180cm tall and of medium build.

He was wearing black clothing and a black baseball cap.

Another elderly woman was targeted in a home invasion in Myaree on Wednesday afternoon when a man allegedly smashed his way into the house and stole jewellery from the 87-year-old.

A 32-year-old man has been charged over the burglary but police in Waikiki are desperate to find the man responsible for the sickening sex attack on the 83-year-old woman.
