The speed limit along this stretch of road is 100km/h.

The crash happened at a notorious bend in the road on the crest of a hill.

Police say it is remarkable that no-one else was caught up in the crash.

Indian Ocean Drive has become one of the state's most dangerous roads, which is used by more than 2000 cars every day.
