Women offer shelter to Aussie Bali jail escapee on the run for 50 days
The sister of Australian fugitive Shaun Davidson has used his bizarre fan page to promote his "model looks" as hundreds of strangers offer to shelter him and offer cash.
Davidson, from Perth, was one of four inmates who dug their way through a 15-metre tunnel to escape Bali's Kerobokan prison on June 19.
Two of the escapees were captured three days later in Timor-Leste , but Davidson and Malaysian Tee Kok King remain on the run almost two months after the daring escape.
The 33-year-old Davidson has continued to taunt Indonesian authorities online by posting updates of his "location," including a picture of an airline seat with extra "leg room."
Davidson's sister Mel launched a Face book fan page after his escape and has amassed more than 3000 followers.
"From what we know of Mr Davidson he's not only a wanted international fugitive but he's got the looks of a model and the humor of a comedian this cunning lad is not only smart but he seems like the whole package," the bio on the page reads.
"When and where will he surface again if ever. Good luck to you sir enjoy your freedom."
The page is often bombarded with posts from fans offering to donate money to Davidson to continue funding his escape.
Some even offer him a place to stay in countries including Brazil and South Africa.
“Hit me up if I can help," Marine Dufourg Calie from Indian Ocean island La Reunion wrote on the page.
Davidson has even asked reporters to inbox him with an offer for an exclusive interview.
"Ok Reporters, Correspondents, and Broadcast News Analysts, if you would like to be considered for my first telephone interview while on the run please email me," he wrote.
Since Davidson's escape on June 19, Interpol and Bali authorities have been the target of constant jibes over his ability to remain on the run.
"I pity those who were on shift that time, the ones being questioned the most," prison guard Wayan Mudastra said.
He said the guards were "shocked" when the escape of Davidson and three other inmates became known.
The four men are believed to have spent hours digging out dirt and water from a hole, before escaping through a tunnel on to Bali's streets.
At the time of his escape, Davidson had just 10 weeks left on his sentence for forging his identity.
