Sydney girl, 3, in a coma after she was pulled unconscious from a Bali villa pool
A three-year-old girl is being flown back to Australia after she was pulled unconscious from a Bali villa swimming pool.
Kawa Sweeney, from Sydney, was on a family holiday when she was reportedly found in the pool on Sunday and was resuscitated for 45 minutes before being placed in a coma.
The little girl's parents, Dee Tang and Desmond Sweeney, who run the successful homewares business Kawaiian Love Shack, have raised more than $70,000 in 24 hours after crowdfunding to transport the little girl to Perth.
"Kawa was in a drowning accident in Bali. She is currently stable but unconscious," The GoFundMe page read.
"We achieved our first goal of $42,000 for the medivac flight back to Perth and are now aiming for another $18,000 to help with the medical bills".
Kawa will reportedly be transported to Perth on Monday afternoon.
According to Ms Tang's sister, Christine Walsh, the family thought they had secured travel insurance, but there was an issue with a credit card, the Daily Telegraph reported.
“The last update she was stable and her heart had got to a rhythm which was good," Ms Walsh said.
The family said any leftover money raised through the GoFundMe page will be donated to charity.
Kawa often features on the Kawaiian Lion Instagram page and Ms Walsh said the little girl "is always in the shop" and has "touched a lot of hearts."
