'Sorry, it was my medication': Unruly passenger causes Qantas flight to return to Perth
An unruly passenger who forced a Qantas flight to return to Perth has apologised for his actions, saying his medication was to blame.
Luke Taylor, 38, caused QF652 to be grounded after about an hour in the air after he allegedly failed to follow crew instructions on Tuesday night.
The man was arrested by Australian Federal Police on the plane's return and the flight was delayed by about three hours, arriving in Brisbane at 8.30am on Wednesday.
“I was just on some medication my doctor had given me, so umm obviously that wasn’t sitting quite well with me,” Mr Taylor said outside court on Wednesday.

“I’m sorry if I did upset anyone last night, ah yeah apologies.”
Qantas put out a statement on Wednesday morning in relation to the incident, saying a "drunk" man failed to follow crew instructions, The Brisbane Times reported.
Footage has emerged from the flight, showing police threatening to taser the man if he would not allow them to restrain him.
“Come on stop resisting, give us your arm Luke,” police can be heard saying.
“Luke give us your arm, otherwise we’re going to taser you mate.”
Mr Taylor appeared in court on Wednesday where he was granted a $20,000 surety bail.
He will reappear in court on August 9.
