A mining services company has been fined $10,000 following an incident at Mineral Resources' Iron Valley Mine in WA's Pilbara region.

Westdrill pleaded guilty in Perth Magistrates Court to two charges of breaching the Mines Safety and Inspection Regulations.

In February 2015, a Mobile Manufacturing Unit truck was being driven down a ramp at the mine when the operator lost full control and could not slow down, steering into a windrow.

No one was injured and there was no damage.

The Department of Mines and Petroleum found the driver was a trainee operator working unsupervised and repairs on the braking system a month earlier had been done by an unqualified worker.
