WA teen jailed eight years for fatal crash

A 16-year-old boy who was fleeing from WA Police before crashing into another car, killing two people and seriously injuring their son, has been sentenced to eight years behind bars.

Officers tried to stop the car in Warwick, but the teenager sped away, then crashed into another vehicle, killing 66-year-old Kevin Forbes and his 60-year-old wife Glenys, and seriously injuring their 25-year-old son Michael.

The boy, who cannot be named, pleaded guilty to charges including manslaughter and dangerous driving causing grievous bodily harm.

He was sentenced in Perth Children's Court on Monday and must serve at least four years behind bars before he can be released.
