Aussie mum, 30, killed in horrific crash with six kids in the car

A Western Australian mother has been killed in a horrific head-on collision with a cement truck, in a crash that also left her six children with serious injuries.

The crash unfolded on Goomalling-Toodyay Road north of Perth shortly after 6am on Wednesday, with pictures from the scene in the aftermath of the crash showing the tipped-over cement truck on one side of the road and the family's badly damaged car on the other side.

Children's toys and clothes could be seen in the debris strewn across the road.

The driver has since been identified as 30-year-old Hannah Louise Fraser.

On Thursday, her partner Leighton Fraser wrote a heartbreaking message on Facebook, saying goodbye to "the love of my life".

"I'm sure I got the chance to tell you just how much your presence in my life made me a better man or just how much you meant to me and I hope that in the years we spent side by side my actions told you every day that I love you more than words can describe," he wrote.

"The thought of you not being here with me is so surreal.

"As I look to our future I vow to raise the kids to the absolute best of my ability and promise that I will always honour the amazing person you are.

"I will love and cherish you always."

A WA Police Force spokesperson said the crash is a tragic reminder of how the lives of so many people can be changed in an instant.

"In addition to the tragic loss of life in this crash, there are six children and the driver of the truck who have all personally experienced a traumatic event and will need ongoing support.

"Incidents like this also impact on the police officers and other emergency responders who attend the scene, and who provide ongoing care to those involved," the spokesperson said.

"While the circumstances surrounding this crash are still under investigation, it is clear something has gone wrong, and in that split second it has ended in tragedy."

The 58-year-old male driver of the cement truck was not seriously injured.

On Thursday morning, two of the children in hospital were said to be fighting for their lives while the rest were considered to be in a stable condition, Nine News reported.

In a Facebook post thanking family and friends for their support this morning, Mr Fraser said the children would make it.

"All children are stable at this point in time, we will be in hospital for quite some time as there are a lot of injuries but they are pulling though," he wrote.

"At this time I have no words to describe how devastated I am."
