Lottery secret revealed: WA man tells how he won six times

A West Australian man has revealed how he won the lottery six times in the past five years, pocketing almost half a million dollars.

The Maddington man, who chose to remain anonymous, most recently got lucky on Saturday, winning a share of $658,000 in a 12 person syndicate.

He said syndicates are the "secret," as entrants are not forking out as much on tickets and the chances of winning are higher.

"The cost is shared among 12 of us so it’s a relatively cheap way to play," the man told News Corp.

“I’m not complaining about sharing at all,” the man joked. “Except with my wife.”

He said five of his six wins were from tickets purchased at the same newsagents on Hutton Street.

In May, a homeless man from WA won $200,000 from a lottery scratchie.

The 20-year-old said he would use the money to plan the wedding of his dreams to his fiance.

He won after purchasing the ticket from his local Lucky Charm Newsagency in Willetton.
