A father-of-two who stole almost $160,000 from his employer in Perth has been jailed for two-and-a-half years.
Christopher Mark Pantany was a trusted manager for JDS Metal Doorframe Manufacture for 10 years.
But for five of those years, the 41-year-old was using his thorough understanding of operating systems to alter company records in a bid to cover up the multiple thefts.
The biggest amount he took in one hit was $31,332.
Pantany, who was earning about $80,000 per year, started thieving because he had a $30,000 credit card debt but where the rest of the money went is unclear, the District Court of WA heard on Friday.
He resigned from the company four months before the crimes were detected.
After JDS began civil proceedings, the money was repaid, largely by Pantany's stepfather.
He will be eligible for parole after serving one year and three months.
