Virgin makes epic change to in-flight menu

Virgin Airlines has dropped a new summer menu offering passengers margaritas, gin cocktails and hot chocolate waffles 35,000 feet up in the air.

Economy class passengers will be able to enjoy Virgin’s food fiesta in the skies with Batched salted grapefruit margaritas, Papa Salt gin palomas, chocolate waffles and corn chips now available for sale.

On selected flights new meals including spinach and ricotta cannelloni, honey fried chicken, as well as hot Belgian chocolate waffles and triple choc cookies will be available.

The airline has revamped its inflight menu in time for summer to offer its passengers more variety and great value.

Virgin Australia’s general manager product and customer Strategy Ali Dunn said they had curated a diverse selection of meals and snacks that highlighted premium Australian produce to cater for a variety of tastes.

“Delivering the highest quality in-flight experience is at the core of what we do, and this extends to our menus,” she said.

“From refreshing beverages to delicious new meal options in both economy and business class, our inflight dining has something for everyone.

“Plus, our award-winning cabin crew, known for their exceptional service, are integral to the process, providing valuable input during taste tests.”

Business class passengers will be treated to a new menu from November 20, with waffles, mascarpone, strawberries, maple syrup and passionfruit mango pancake stacks on offer.

Passengers will also be able to indulge in a chicken noodle salad, beef quesadilla or pork with sticky lemon sauce and rice.

Ms Dunn said the airline also introduced digital receipts for onboard purchases so that passengers could easily track their transactions.

“This is part of our ongoing commitment to innovation and enhancing the convenience of travel with Virgin Australia,” she added.
