Pokemon Go players swarm Sydney street, bring traffic to halt

Swarms of Pokemon Go players have stopped traffic in a suburban Sydney street.
Posted to Facebook on Sunday night, footage showed gamers running in front of cars to cross the street.
The gaming pedestrians bring cars to a halt, casing traffic to form a single lane just to avoid collisions.
Absorbed in their screens, the hordes of people seem oblivious to the enraged drivers around them as car horns blare loudly.
The incident occurred in the suburb of Rhodes, where frustrated residents have already unleashed their fury on players in the past.
In July, residents began throwing water balloons at people playing the game while they were traipsing through the streets in search of Pokemon.
The residents had allegedly grown tired of the gamers congregating outside their apartment buildings late into the night.
So they took matters into their own hands when people began gathering at Peg Paterson Park on the evening of July 12.
It is believed that Peg Paterson Park also doubles as an intersection of three ‘Pokestops’.
Pokemon Go became the fastest game ever to reach the number one spot on iOS and Android in terms of revenue.
