Bigfoot hunter uncovers sighting of the mythical creature in old footage

A Bigfoot hunter has found what appears to be the secretive, reclusive creature in old footage he recorded in 2008.

Sasquatch researcher MK Davis recently discovered the footage he originally captured while wandering through Bluff Creek in California with two other men.

Bluff Creek in the state's woody north is notorious for Bigfoot sightings.

When the crypto-zoologist recorded the footage seven years ago neither he nor his companions noticed the large, ape-like creature sitting on the stony riverbed, obscured by the shadows of trees, the Mail Online reports.

Davis has since reviewed the footage, enhancing it to get a clearer picture of what appears to be the Sasquatch holding something in its hands and moving it up toward its face.

"It was really dark when I filmed it and I was quite zoomed in at the time so I didn't see anything," Davis said.

"I had been up on the mountain with some friends and we had found a flat area with a carcass where a deer carcass was with the bones snapped and the marrow sucked out.

"It was only when I looked at the video again that I saw something white moving on the screen which is the bag it is holding."

An extensive blogger and active member of the online Bigfoot community, Davis claims to have spent nearly two decades researching the existence of the creature science dismisses as bunkum.

The researcher has cleaned up and enhanced the footage to show the creature more clearly.

Davis' footage was taken in the same area as the infamous 1967 recording by Robert Patterson and Bob Gimilin.

The Patterson and Gimilin recording allegedly shows of the Sasquatch walking through forest before turning to look at the camera, later giving rise to the modern myth.

In 2014, Bigfoot hunter Rick Dyer claimed to have shot and killed the beast before taking its stuffed carcass on tour across the US.

The corpse was later found out to be a well crafted fake that he used to fool many – including some of his closest confidants.
