Drone Footage Shows Mars Simulation Mission in Remote Oman Desert

More than 200 scientists from 25 countries are taking part in a Mars simulation project led by the Austrian Space Forum in Oman’s southern deserts of Dhofar.

During the four-week project, set in the desert’s “analog” martian landscape, scientists will conduct experiments that may help preparations for a future human mission to Mars.

Spacesuits, sonic mapping techniques, field tests and a portable greenhouse are some of the things being tested.
