Swimmers Saved From Rip by Off-Duty Lifeguards and Surfer

Swimmers who were caught in a rip off the coast of Port Macquarie were rescued by a surfer and off-duty lifeguards, who happened to be training nearby on Wednesday, February 7.

The man and woman, who were tourists in the area, went for a swim at about 8 am and were later found struggling near a rock wall at the entrance to Town Beach, Port News reported.
