Public Health England warns on child sugar consumption

The chief nutritionist of Public Health England (PHE) has warned that on average, children are consuming at least three unhealthy snacks and sugary drinks a day, with around a third consuming four or more. Dr Alison Tedstone said that parents needed to “take control” to improve their children’s diets. Jenny Rosborough from Action on Sugar said the government also had to do more by making sure companies reduced the amount of sugar in snacks.
