Police Dashcam Captures Graphic 'Secondary Deer Collision'

The Anoka County Sheriff’s Office has released dashcam footage from the evening of December 6 showing the graphic collision of a deer and two vehicles along Briarwood Lane Northeast in the city of East Bethel, Minnesota.

The crash was technically classified as a “secondary deer collision,” the accompanying Facebook post reads. The footage shows a deer running in front of an oncoming car, and the ensuing collision sends the animal flying against the windshield of the police vehicle.

The deputy driving the patrol car suffered minor injuries during the crash.

“Most deer collisions are unavoidable circumstances, but all drivers should be as cautious as they can when traveling in open, wooded areas,” the Facebook post reads. Credit: Anoka County Sheriff’s Office via Storyful
