Police Search Merrylands Following Shooting of John Ibrahim's Bodyguard

Police combed Price Street in Merrylands, New South Wales, on November 21 after underworld figure John Ibrahim’s bodyguard Semi “Tongan Sam” Ngata was shot in the back last Friday.

The incident took place at Ibrahim’s home on November 17 during prepations for the wedding of Ibrahim’s newphew, Hassan “Sam” Sayour, and Aisha Mehajer over the weekend. Ngata was in a “serious but stable” condition, according to police.

A number of items, such as hard drives, were seized during police search in Merrylands on November 21. This video shows police operations.

The shooter has not been identified and police are looking for information about a “stolen late-model NSW registered Subaru WRX sedan, dark metallic blue in colour was possibly linked to the shooting incident.” The car, which police said was stolen from Pemulwuy along with a similar vehicle on October 29, was found burnt out at Rees Street, Mays Hill, later on November 17.
