Rohingya Refugees Cannot Return Until Myanmar Citizens Accept Them, Says Army Chief

Rohingya refugees living in Bangladesh camps will only be allowed to return to Myanmar if "real … citizens” accept them, military Commander-in-Chief Min Aung Hlaing said on November 16.

More than 600,000 Rohingya have fled to southeastern Bangladesh from northern Rakhine state after a violent response by Myanmar security forces to attacks on police outposts by the Muslim militant group the Arakan Rohingya Salvation Army in August.
