Cargo Craft With Nearly 7,400 Pounds of Supplies Launched to International Space Station

The Cygnus cargo spacecraft was launched to the International Space Station on Sunday, November 12, from Wallops Flight Facility in Virginia.

The cargo craft, developed by the Orbital ATK company, is filled with nearly 7,400 pounds of supplies for the International Space Station, including provisions, computer hardware, equipment for scientific experiments and even a Thanksgiving dinner for crew members, according to reports from NASA Spaceflight and USA Today.

The craft was sent into orbit via a 139-foot Antares rocket, and its launch was originally scheduled for November 11 but aborted when a personal aircraft entered the launch area’s airspace, Space.com reported. Credit: NASA via Storyful
