Trees Downed After Hurricane Maria Slams Through St Croix

Residents of St Croix awoke to devastation Wednesday, September 20, just hours after Hurricane Maria tore through their island.

Trees were downed and roofs ripped right off buildings as the Category 5 storm left its mark on the Caribbean.

Aalyiah Bisamber, who took this footage, reported feeling “helpless and heartbroken” upon seeing the state of her neighborhood, adding that she had not yet been able to get into contact with all of her family members. Credit: TWitter/Aaliyah Bisamber via Storyful
