Insane Clown Posse Speaks to Fans at Washington Protest Against Gang Designation

Fans of the band Insane Clown Posse, known as juggalos, demonstrated in Washington DC on September 16 against a 2011 FBI decision to classify juggalos as a gang.

Members of the band addressed their fans at the demonstration. Fans then marched down the National Mall chanting, “Are we a gang? No!,” “Music is not a crime,” and “Family.”

In 2011, the National Gang Intelligence Center said the group was a “hybrid-gang” that was expanding.

In 2014, members of the band along with the American Civil Liberties Union sued the Justice Department and the FBI for what they said was an incorrect classification of the fan group as a gang.
