New Zealand Customs on September 11 tweeted a video of its officers performing a haka in celebration of the Te Wiki o Te Reo Māori, or Māori Language Week. The theme of the 42th edition of the week was Kia ora te reo Māori, or let the Māori language live. The event was held to revive the Eastern Polynesian language spoken by New Zealand’s indigenous Maori people.
