Crew Abandons Ship in Hong Kong's Discovery Bay During Typhoon Hato

A cargo ship was moored in Discovery Bay after its crew battled to keep the vessel from running aground as Typhoon Hato swept through Hong Kong on Wednesday, August 23.

Residents of the Lantau Island community shared accounts on social media of some of the crew abandoning ship before the vessel was successfully moored.

They don’t allow the customers to come inside.” Last week a group of youngsters stole a car and crashed into a homeowner’s Nissan Juke and demolished his wall. CCTV footage shows the stolen Honda 4x4 careering along the road before losing control and ploughing into the parked car on Worton Road.
