Royal Navy's Largest Warship Sets Sail for First Time

The Royal Navy’s largest warship, HMS Queen Elizabeth, took to sea for the first time on Monday, June 26.

This footage from early Tuesday shows the aircraft carrier squeezing pass the Forth Bridges near Edinburgh at low tide with “just a few metres to spare,” according to BBC.

The ship, built at Rosyth dockyard and costing more than $7.6 billion (£6 billion), can carry up to 40 aircraft and 1,000 crew members. It took 11 tugs to pull it out of the dock for sea trials on Monday. Credit: Royal Navy via Storyful
