'Reckless Driver' Slides Down South Hedland Street, Crashes Through Fence

A driver sped “recklessly” down a South Hedland street late on Saturday, June 17, before the car fishtailed through a residential fence and sped off.

Western Australia Police senior sergeant Dean Snashall told Storyful the 21-year-old driver was arrested on Saturday after he drove the “Holden Commodore ute in a reckless manner in Daylesford Avenue in South Hedland near the intersection of Carr Court” and then fled the scene.

“ToPH CCTV cameras were used by local police to capture the burnout after a number of calls from concerned residents,” senior sergeant Snashall said. “The driver lost control of his car and crashed into a house fence near Koolama Cres.”

The offender also allegedly had a blood alcohol level over 0.08 per cent and will appear in court later in June, police said. Credit: South Hedland Police via Storyful
