NYPD Seeks Men Who Assaulted Bodega Clerk with Avocados, Bananas
A New York City bodega employee suffered a broken jaw after two men threw avocados and bananas at him on May 29. New York police released footage of the attack at Stadium Gourmet Deli in an effort to identify the suspects.
The incident was triggered by a dispute over a food order, police said in a press release. In addition to the broken jaw, the 21-year-old victim suffered a cut and fractures to his face. He was taken to the hospital in serious but stable condition.
The store owner told ABC 7 the men appeared to be drunk during the incident just before 5 am. He also said the victim needed surgery on his eye. Credit: NYPD via Storyful
