Animal Rescuers Take in Orphaned Lambs

A group of orphaned lambs were in varying degrees of health when they were found at a farm in northeast Tasmania on Sunday, June 11.

Animal rescuer Jodie Bradshaw, who runs the FreeHearts Animal Sanctuary, said one of the lambs was suffering an infection and later required surgery when they were delivered to them that morning.

“The lambs are all orphans from a sheep farm. The farmer has around 800-1000 sheep and calls us each year to see if we will take the orphaned lambs,” Bradshaw said. “Out of the six lambs, four were in a good state of health, they just needed feeding, they were around two days old.”
