Controlled Explosion Carried Out After Suspicious Vehicles Reported Near US Embassy in London
London’s Metropolitan Police confirmed that an incident involving two unattended vehicles near the under-construction US Embassy in southwest London on June 7 was “not terrorism-related.”
The Guardian and other British media outlets reported that a controlled explosion was carried out after police were alerted to the two vehicles.
These pictures show police responding to the alert on Ponton Road in Wandsworth, where the Embassy is being built.
