Woman charged after racist rant against Sydney university student

A young Muslim couple has faced a vicious racial attack in the car park of Sydney’s Macquarie University.

A woman seemed to appear from nowhere and began to launch abuse at the married couple as they sat in their car.

The wife was wearing a niqab, and the woman was yelling at her to take it off.

From inside the car, the couple watched as the woman furiously banged on the window.

“What's wrong?” the man asks her.

“Take that off!” the woman cries, continuing to hit the car with her palm.

“Do that again to my car…” the man began, before instructing his wife to call security.

“Who are you? Get out!” the woman yelled.

University security was called to take the woman away, and she was later charged with assault.

Police released a statement on Sunday afternoon confirming a 35-year-old woman had been charged with destroy-damage property along with common assault following the incident on Friday.

The woman will appear at Burwood Local Court on March 13.
