Cruz adviser: Trump personally asked Cruz to endorse
Chris Wilson, senior adviser to Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, tells Yahoo News Senior Political Correspondent Jon Ward that Donald Trump called Cruz on Monday, asking him to endorse prior to his speech, and Cruz told him no. As a result, Wilson says, Cruz's team knew that Trump's campaign would organize boos during his speech. "We knew it was going to happen," he says. Wilson added, though, that it's not out of the question for Cruz to eventually endorse Trump.
