Amazon cruise ship capsizes after explosion

Rescuers have recovered a second body from a cruise ship that exploded while docked on a river in the Peruvian Amazon.

Divers are still looking for the bodies of several people missing since Saturday's blast in the city of Iquitos.

It happened when a gas container exploded aboard the Aqua Expeditions cruise ship as it was taking on fuel. No tourists were on board at the time.

The second body was found Monday by Peruvian navy divers. News reports say six other crew members are still missing.

Welding work was being done at the time of the blast, marking the second incident in a week on the Peruvian Amazon.

The ship was getting ready to ferry tourists to the Pacaya-Samiria National Reserve, a vast, protected Amazon area known for its ecological diversity.

Last Thursday, pirates attacked and robbed a cruise ship headed for the same reserve. That vessel was carrying 56 passengers, including Americans, Canadians and Australians who were enjoying a seven-day cruise.
