'Kind of weird': Mystery over dashcam video of man holding up notes

When a woman returned to her parked car to find a note on the windscreen, she thought somebody may have accidentally hit her vehicle but what she found was very different.

“My friend returned to her car parked at Eastland to a note left on the windscreen telling her to check her dash cam. The video below is what she found,” the woman posted in the Yarra Valley Facebook page.

In the 25 second video a man can be seen walking to the front of the car, where he waves at the dashcam and proceeds to holds up three small cards, one at a time.

The mystery man then smiled and walked away, leaving the car owner and her friend baffled.

The woman who posted the video said the lighting was too dim to be able to read the cards and took to the local group to solve the mystery.

“We are curious to know what it said or if anyone else has experienced something similar involving this individual?” she asked.

After ruling out the two common theories - that the car was incorrectly parked or had been damaged - members in the group began to speculate.

“Does she remember someone following her or something that happened before she parked? Bit creepy. Who has cards ready to write on in their car?” someone asked.

“Maybe he wants to catch up for coffee and thinks your friend is cute?” one optimist suggested.

As the curiosity grew in the group, people started tossing other theories around as to what was written on the cards.

“Could be asking for a date, kind of weird but hey, it’s unique,” one person suggested.

“Going by his smile, it seems like a friendly note,” another person wrote, and they were correct.

Mystery solved

After some investigating, the original poster returned to the group to update everyone.

“Mystery solved!, It just said ‘have a good day,’” she wrote

Praise began to roll in for the mystery man from members in the group.

“This is the best! Love it! We need more of this!” a user responded.

“Love the man for trying to make someone smile,” another person said.

One person commented that although the sentiment was there, it could use some work.

“So it was just an elaborate random act of kindness? Nice intention! The execution needs some refining to not be so mysterious and creepy,” one person added.
