Victoria's bushfires by the numbers

More than 1000 firefighters are tackling blazes across the Victoria

VICTORIA'S BUSHFIRES BY NUMBERS:

FIRES

* 40 fires and more than 923,000 hectares burnt across Victoria

* At least 24 fires and 666,000 hectares burnt in Gippsland

* At least 15 fires and 140,000 hectares burnt in Hume region

* One fire and 10,000 hectares burnt in the Barwon southwest region

FIREFIGHTERS AND SUPPORT

* More than 1000 firefighters tackling blazes across the state

* 39 firefighters and two liaison officers from the US have joined local crews

* 61 US firefighters and 10 Canadian firefighters will arrive next week

* 68 firefighting aircraft available for water bombing, air supervision and intelligence gathering

* About 300 relief workers from the Red Cross and Department of Health and Human Services are helping

LOSSES

* Two men, Mick Roberts and Fred Becker, have died in the East Gippsland fires

* Six people are missing in East Gippsland

* 110 properties and 220 outbuildings razed.

WARNINGS

* One evacuation order and four emergency warnings in the Hume region.

* Nine Emergency warnings across East Gippsland.

* Total fire bans in the Mallee, Northern Country, North Central, North East, West and South Gippsland and East Gippsland regions

MILITARY SUPPORT

* RAAF C-27J Spartan tactical airlifter flew 25 children and elderly citizens out of Mallacoota to RAAF Base East Sale

* MV Sycamore with a crew of 29 civilian contractors and one Navy officer evacuated 60 people and some pets from Mallacoota to the Mornington Peninsula

* HMAS Choules with a crew of 179 has delivered more than 1000 evacuees from Mallacoota to the Mornington Peninsula.
