* Anyone who visited Jetstar (Terminal 4) at Melbourne Airport on Tuesday between 4.45am and 2pm must get tested and isolate for 14 days

* Victoria's chief health officer Brett Sutton says there is no viable alternative to another lockdown because the virus is spreading quickly, despite fast contact tracing and test results

* Five additional locally-acquired cases were reported on Thursday. They include a female assistant manager at the Holiday Inn and four close contacts of people who earlier tested positive. No new cases were reported on Friday.

* The Holiday Inn has closed until further notice for "terminal cleaning" with about 135 staff at the hotel stood down, told to isolate at home and get tested
