Victorian Powerball player may not yet realise they are $36 million richer

There’s a good chance a Victorian soon-to-be multi-millionaire may not realise their life is about to change significantly, with a $36 million Powerball jackpot prize still to be claimed.

While a young Adelaide man and a Sydney couple are already planning what they’re going to do with their $36.6 million Powerball prize, a mystery Victorian punter has yet to claim their multi-million-dollar windfall.

There were three division one winning entries nationally in Thursday’s record-breaking $110 million Powerball draw on Thursday, with one each to take home $36,666,666.67.

Where the unclaimed $36m Powerball ticket was bought

The unclaimed division one winning entry was sold at Mid-Town Lotto, at Gisborne Central Shopping Centre, in the Macedon Ranges town of Gisborne, The Lott officials revealed Saturday morning.

As the entry was not registered to a Tatts Club card, officials have no way to contact the ticket holder and break the mind-blowing news.

This means the winner may have yet to discover their new multi-millionaire status and could be walking around with a ticket worth $36.6 million in their pocket, wallet or handbag.

‘Check your tickets’

Anyone who purchased their Powerball entry from Mid-Town Lotto is urged to check their ticket immediately.

Mid-Town Lotto owner John Kelly said he was ecstatic to discover his outlet had sold such a massive division one winning entry.

“It’s great news!” he told The Lott.

“We’ve had this store since 2001 and this is the first division one winning entry it’s sold. What an entry to sell!

“Something like this is always great news in a town like ours.”

The Lott spokesperson Bronwyn Spencer encouraged Gisborne residents and visitors to check their tickets as they could be one of Australia’s newest multi-millionaires.

“Make sure you check your entry as soon as possible because you may not have to go to work on Monday. Instead, you could start planning how you can play by your own rules and begin your life as a newly-minted multi-millionaire,” she said.

If you check your entry and discover you are holding the winning ticket, The Lott advised to keep it safe and contact 131 868.
