Victorian constable charged with speeding

A Victorian constable has been charged with dangerous driving and multiple speeding offences while on the job.

Victoria Police say the 37-year-old male officer from the eastern region was subject to an internal investigation following an incident while on duty on June 18, 2020.

On Wednesday he was charged with two counts of dangerous driving, two counts of driving at a dangerous speed and five counts of speeding by less than 35 km/h.

Victoria Police say he will be summonsed to appear at an unnamed magistrates court at an unspecified date.
