Victoria Police arrest driver over fatal hit-and-run
A man is expected to be charged over a hit-and-run in Melbourne which killed a young Dutch backpacker cycling in a bike lane.
The 26-year-old man was arrested in Melbourne CBD about 5.30pm on Monday, after a member of the public recognised him from images released by Victoria Police.
The 27-year-old cyclist was travelling in a bike lane in South Yarra’s Chapel Street when she was struck by a white Mercedes-Benz and knocked into the path of another car on Sunday.
