Victoria hit by third earthquake this month
A third earthquake has hit Victoria in the space of just weeks.
Hamilton, a city in the state’s south west, was shaken just after 5am on Thursday by a 3.4 magnitude earthquake.
The quake had a depth of 3km.
Only six felt reports had been made as of 7.20am, just over two hours after the event, with the Victorian SES not expecting extensive damage.
Thursday’s quake comes after a magnitude 3 earthquake rocked the Gippsland region just before 8pm on Monday night, with more than 80 felt reports made.
On August 7, a 4.1 magnitude quake hit Victoria’s high country.
