Elderly man found after going missing while walking his dog

An elderly man who went walking with his dog in Melbourne has been found.

Kyu Lee, of Ferntree Gully, was last seen at his home just after 1pm on Saturday.

Victoria Police released a statement just before 4pm on Sunday to say Mr Lee, 77, was found "safe and well".

His disappearance sparked a search which widened on Sunday and was carried out by Search and Rescue, SES and Parks and Gardens.

They searched an area where Mr Lee normally walked, which included the lake within Ferntree Gully Quarry, along the railway line and along Burwood Highway near the 1000 Steps walk.

Concerns were held by police and family as the 77-year-old has dementia.

His dog is a white Pomeranian.
